Basic Safety Course
BSC is specifically designed for both new and veteran seafarers. The syllabus covers the mandatory requirements prescribed in regulation VI/1 and section A-VI/1 of STCW 1995. The Basic Safety Course is patterned after IMO model courses: 1.13, 1.19, 1.20 and 1.21. Objective Trainees will be able to apply the following skills in the event of an emergency: • Personal Survival Techniques • Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting • Elementary First Aid • Personal Safety and Social Responsibility Duration 8 days Entry Requirements Medical certificate
No. of days of training site: 2 days
Things to bring: 1. Registration Form and ID 2. Pen, notebook, handbook 3. White T-shirt and long pants (2 days) 4. Safety shoes mandatory for PFRB 5. Shoes and slipper 6. Underwear (2 days) 7. Toiletries (2 days) 8. Bath & face towel 9. Coverall (2 days) 10. Padlock and key (optional) 11. Rubber shoes (optional) for recreation activity
Other Reminders: 1. No trainee will be allowed to leave training site premises for the duration of the course w/out CTSI approval. 2. No alcohol drinks/prohibited drugs are allowed inside the training site. 3. Bringing expensive jewelries and/or large amount of money is strongly discouraged. 4. No trainee’s visitors are allowed at the training site. 5. Trainees are expected to conduct themselves accordingly.
