Welding and Brazing Stainless Steel

This course provides understanding of welding and brazing of stainless steel as well as safety practices.  It provides training to develop the manual skill necessary to produce quality welds and brazes in different positions.  It will familiarize the students to the different stainless steel consumables and various welding and brazing techniques.

Gas Tungsten Arc Welding/Shielded Metal Arc Welding

CTSI offers close mentoring, coaching and intensive training for various Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) requirements for personnel in need of specialized training in any or all of the above welding disciplines.  This is helpful preparatory training and familiarization for those preparing for Det Norske Veritas (DNV) and American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) class certification tests. 

Objective
Extensively prepare personnel for trade tests, class certification tests and overall competency in FCAW, GTAW, and/or SMAW

Rigging and Lifting Course

This Rigging and Lifting course is based on an OPITO standard IRLO.  It gives the novice rigger a better and clearer idea on safety, proper techniques and methods and gives the seasoned rigger a review of basic fundamentals of the rigging and lifting process. 

Objective
Delegates will learn basic safety principles involved in the rigging and lifting process, preparation before executing a rigging and lifting task, calculation of safe working load and learn to coordinate closely with the crane operator.

Delegates will be able to: Identify and appropriately employ rigging and lifting accessories and appliances in order to safely rig, secure and lift various types and sizes of loads.

Advanced Welding Course

This course gives competent and seasoned welders training to perform more advanced and difficult welding works.  Advanced welding is both theoretical and practical giving much emphasis on practical training.  Delegates are trained and monitored by our veteran welding instruction staff in order to further develop knowledge and capability.

Objective
Delegates will be able to safely and properly apply Advanced Welding techniques.

Heavy Forklift Operator and Maintenance Course

The Forklift Operator course covers training of forklift that has a carrying capacity of more than 10 tons.

It includes modules on the following:
• Inspecting for safety
• Familiarization
• Safe forklift operation
• Forklift maneuver with or without cargo
• Forklift maintenance

• Driver’s license

Course Intake Limitation
Not more than 24 trainees per class

 

Surface Preparation and Painting

SPP will improve the skills of seafarers in painting procedures as well as awareness and knowledge of corrosion and its precautions.

Objective
Trainees will be knowledgeable and highly skilled in:

  • Corrosion protection and prevention
  • Surface preparation and application
  • Safety, health and environmental aspects of SPP
