Description
MARPOL I is patterned after IMO model course 1.11 and provides training for masters, deck and engine officers to maintain and operate a ship in accordance with MARPOL 73/78 and to protect the marine environment against oil pollution from ships, ensure safe and environmentally sound tanker operations and prevent ships from being delayed at port.

Objective
Trainees will learn to: be concerned about pollution; Understand the impact of oil pollution; Explain international rules aimed at preventing such pollution (that is caused by machinery space operations); Comply with rules and monitoring measures designed to ensure compliance.
