Description
MARPOL II is designed to explain the criteria used for categorizing noxious liquid substances according to the hazard that they represent to the environment, ship’s type in which they may be carried and the conditions under which may be discharged.
Objective
Trainees will be able to: Correctly identify categories of noxious liquid substances offered for shipment; Assess potential pollution impact and construction features required of chemical tankers in normal and emergency circumstances; Apply principles and procedures to prevent pollution; Avoid ship delays in port arising from port state action.
